Kno Commerce Review 2026: Post-Purchase Surveys That Drive Better Attribution

Kno Commerce Review 2026: Post-Purchase Surveys That Drive Better Attribution

Every ad platform tells you it drove the sale. Meta takes credit. Google takes credit. TikTok takes credit. And your attribution dashboard shows 3x more conversions than you actually had. The simplest way to cut through the noise is to just ask the customer. That is exactly what Kno Commerce does, and it does it better than anyone else in the Shopify ecosystem.

Here is our honest assessment after deploying Kno across multiple DTC client accounts.

What It Does

Kno Commerce (formerly KnoCommerce) is a post-purchase survey platform purpose-built for Shopify brands. It collects zero-party data, information that customers voluntarily share, to solve the attribution problem that has plagued DTC marketers since iOS 14.5 destroyed cookie-based tracking.

The core use case is simple: a survey appears right after checkout asking customers how they first heard about your brand, what motivated their purchase, and other questions that help you understand the real customer journey. But Kno goes well beyond basic surveys. It turns those responses into actionable audience segments, pushes data into your existing marketing stack, and gives you attribution clarity that pixel-based tools simply cannot match.

It is built for Shopify-native DTC brands that want to understand the true drivers behind customer acquisition, not the story ad platforms are telling them.

Key Features

30+ Pre-Built Survey Templates

Kno ships with a library of over 30 ready-to-deploy survey templates covering attribution, NPS, customer satisfaction, product feedback, and market research. These are not generic templates. They are built from patterns across the millions of responses flowing through the platform monthly. You can go from install to live survey in under five minutes with no code and no design work needed.

12 Question Types with Conditional Logic

The platform supports 12 distinct question types including radio buttons, checkboxes, text inputs, dropdowns, sliders, NPS scales, date pickers, and ranking questions. More importantly, you can build conditional logic flows so follow-up questions branch based on previous answers. A customer who says they found you through TikTok gets different follow-ups than one who came via a friend's recommendation. This depth separates Kno from the one-question survey tools that come bundled with analytics platforms.

Attribution Reporting and Analysis

This is where Kno earns its keep. Survey responses are broken down across 60+ Shopify attributes including AOV, products purchased, order count, and customer tags. You can segment attribution data by cohort, product line, acquisition channel, and dozens of other dimensions. When a customer tells you they discovered your brand through a podcast three months ago but finally converted through a Meta retargeting ad, you get the full picture that no pixel can capture.

Audience Segmentation and Data Activation

Kno does not just collect data and let it sit in a dashboard. It pushes response data directly into your marketing tools. The Klaviyo integration adds custom properties to customer profiles and drops respondents into targeted lists based on their answers. The Triple Whale integration feeds self-reported attribution data into your analytics to complement pixel-based tracking. Shopify Flow integration lets you trigger automations based on survey responses. This is zero-party data put to work across your entire stack.

Revenue-Driving Survey Actions

Surveys do not have to be passive data collection. Kno lets you embed upsell and cross-sell offers directly in the survey flow. You can drive app downloads through a Tapcart integration, prompt loyalty program signups, and generate product reviews, all within the post-purchase survey experience. We have seen clients turn what was purely a data tool into a measurable revenue touchpoint.

Benchmarking and Trend Reports

Available on the Analyst plan and above, Kno provides benchmarking data so you can compare your survey performance and attribution patterns against other brands in the network. This context is valuable when you are trying to determine whether your 22% "heard about us through TikTok" rate is normal for your category or an outlier worth investigating.

45%+ Average Response Rates

This is the number that matters most. A survey tool is useless if customers ignore it. Kno reports average response rates above 45% across its platform, which is significantly higher than email-based survey tools or standalone survey platforms. The post-purchase placement catches customers at the moment of highest engagement with your brand, and Kno's survey UX is optimized to keep them answering.

Pricing

Kno offers four tiers on Shopify, all billed monthly with no long-term contracts required. Annual billing saves roughly 10%.

Starter -- $19/month

  • 1 live survey
  • 3 questions maximum
  • Basic question types only
  • No integrations
  • No audience building
  • 7-day free trial included

Analyst -- $119/month

  • 2 live surveys
  • Unlimited questions per survey
  • All 12 advanced question types
  • 20+ integrations available (2 concurrent max)
  • 4 audiences
  • Standard audience type
  • Benchmarking and trend reports

Pro -- $299/month

  • 4 live surveys
  • Unlimited questions per survey
  • All question types including image and video
  • 20+ integrations (4 concurrent max)
  • Unlimited audiences
  • 5 custom audiences
  • Survey link capability for off-site deployment
  • Full reporting suite

Enterprise -- $499+/month

  • Unlimited live surveys
  • All features included
  • Unlimited custom audiences
  • Unlimited integrations
  • Dedicated support

Kno's own recommendation: if you are spending less than $100K per month on ads, the Analyst plan is the right starting point. If you are spending more than $100K per month, go with Pro. We agree with this guidance. The Starter plan is too limited for any brand serious about attribution.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Industry-leading response rates above 45% mean you are actually getting statistically significant data, not anecdotes from a handful of respondents.
  • The Klaviyo integration is best-in-class. Custom properties flow directly into customer profiles for immediate segmentation and targeting.
  • Setup genuinely takes five minutes. No developer resources needed, no pixel installation, no complex configuration.
  • 30+ pre-built templates eliminate the guesswork of survey design. Most brands can launch with a proven template and never touch it.
  • Zero-party attribution data fills the exact gap that pixel-based tools cannot solve: dark social, word of mouth, podcast mentions, and other untrackable channels.
  • Revenue-driving features like in-survey upsells and app download prompts turn a cost center into a revenue touchpoint.
  • Month-to-month billing with no contracts means low commitment to test.
  • 4.8 out of 5 stars on the Shopify App Store with 97% five-star reviews.

Cons

  • The Starter plan at $19 per month is too limited to be useful. One survey with three questions and no integrations is essentially a trial, not a real plan.
  • Integration limits on the Analyst and Pro plans feel restrictive. Only 2 concurrent integrations on the $119 per month plan means you may have to choose between Klaviyo and Triple Whale rather than using both.
  • Survey data is self-reported, which introduces bias. Customers often credit the last touchpoint they remember, not necessarily the one that actually influenced their decision.
  • No free tier. Competitors like Triple Whale include a basic post-purchase survey question at no cost.
  • Some users have reported inconsistent support response times, particularly for billing-related issues.
  • Limited to Shopify. If you are on WooCommerce or BigCommerce, Kno is not an option.

Who It Is Best For

Strong fit:

  • Shopify DTC brands spending $30K+ per month on paid media across multiple channels who need attribution clarity beyond what pixels provide
  • Brands investing in dark social channels like podcasts, influencer partnerships, and organic TikTok that traditional attribution tools cannot track
  • Marketing teams already using Klaviyo who want to enrich customer profiles with zero-party data for better segmentation
  • Brands running Triple Whale or other analytics platforms that want self-reported data to validate and complement pixel-based attribution

Less ideal for:

  • Very early-stage brands with limited ad spend where attribution complexity is low
  • Brands that only run single-channel paid media where the attribution question is straightforward
  • Non-Shopify stores
  • Brands looking for a comprehensive analytics dashboard. Kno is a survey and zero-party data tool, not a replacement for Triple Whale or Northbeam.

How to Get Started

  1. Install from the Shopify App Store. The Starter plan includes a 7-day free trial.
  2. Choose a survey template. Start with the "How did you first hear about us?" attribution template. It is the highest-impact survey you can deploy.
  3. Configure your questions. Add follow-up questions with conditional logic based on how customers respond to the first question.
  4. Connect your integrations. Klaviyo is the priority. Set up custom properties so every survey response enriches the customer profile automatically.
  5. Set the survey placement. Kno deploys on the order confirmation and thank-you pages by default.
  6. Let it run for two to four weeks. You need a few hundred responses before the data becomes directionally reliable for budget allocation decisions.

From install to first actionable insight is typically two to three weeks, depending on order volume.

Our Verdict

Rating: 8.0 out of 10

Kno Commerce is the best dedicated post-purchase survey tool in the Shopify ecosystem. The response rates are genuinely impressive, the Klaviyo integration is seamless, and the attribution data you collect fills a gap that no pixel or MMM model can fully solve. In a world where cookie deprecation and privacy regulations continue to erode traditional tracking, zero-party data from post-purchase surveys is not a nice-to-have. It is a necessity.

Where Kno falls short is in its pricing structure at the lower tiers. The Starter plan is not useful for serious brands, and the integration limits on Analyst and Pro can force awkward tradeoffs. It is also important to remember that self-reported attribution data has inherent biases and should be used to complement pixel-based tools, not replace them entirely.

For DTC brands spending $30K or more per month on media across multiple channels, the Pro plan at $299 per month is an easy investment to justify. The attribution clarity alone can redirect thousands of dollars in monthly ad spend toward channels that are actually working. Pair it with Triple Whale or Northbeam for pixel-based data, and you have a measurement stack that gives you genuine confidence in your budget allocation.

Our recommendation: install on the Analyst plan at $119 per month and run the core attribution survey for 30 days. If the data changes even one budget allocation decision, it has already paid for itself many times over.
